The University of Maryland’s Office of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs in conjunction with the College of Education has established a partnership with Paint Branch Elementary School (PBES) located in the Lakeland community of College Park. In building a strong connection between UMD and PBES, the partnership will:

Enrich the educational experience and performance of Paint Branch Elementary School students.
Give students a broader understanding of their future possibilities through new experiences and opportunities.
Expand the professional development of Paint Branch Elementary School teachers through increased engagement with the University.
Expand the University’s service learning, community-based research, and community programs offered at Paint Branch Elementary School.
Create a tangible connection between the University of Maryland and the broader College Park community.
